Under Teek's shaky, cheerful facade, her spirit is completely dulled. Her life seems to trudge on day-by-day; It's a struggle to get out of bed without a period of depression beforehand. After the affair, she finds it hard to trust anyone. She feels isolated, overworked, and like she's going nowhere.
Yet, despite everything, she can't swallow her pride and contact her old family to help her out. She worries about how they will treat her daughter and her. So, she wakes up, she works, she eats whatever Flea has prepared, and she sleeps. Teek perseveres.
She has a bad sweet tooth and sneaks candy from the breakroom; Glomby's comments about her weight have made her self-conscious.
She fastens the belt of her uniform to make her waist look thinner. The buckle pokes and prods at her.
Teek works as customer support at a neon sign advertising business in northern Stem City. She has to assemble report weekly to her boss, Synus. She takes daily lunch breaks with her janitor coworker, Glomby. When she gets home, Flea always has something prepared for her.
Born into a tight-knit religious family, Teek lived the normal lower-class off-world life in the southern sector. She got a southwest factory job at an early age and supported their household as best she could. At the age of 19, she met and fell in love with a suave bounty hunter. Her traditional family frowned upon her romance due to his perceived sketchiness, but she didn't care.
He held her, comforted her, and told her she was in control.
After years of arguing with her parents, the young adult would leave her loving family, move to the east sector, and have a child with the man.
Her daughter, Flea, became the sunshine of her life. For years, their family lived a quiet life in Stem City. The economy was suffering and the streets were becoming more dangerous when they had their daughter, but they did their best to protect her. Her husband's bounty hunting brought in enough money to keep them afloat and more. Teek stayed home and raised Flea best she could.
In XX815, her husband set off to go hunt the Red Rabbit, a notoriously dangerous criminal. Teek was worried, but her husband assured her that the job would get done. With sunken hearts, she and Flea watched him venture off into the Outlands.
Shortly after, a strange woman appeared at the Miroir family doorstep. The woman showed Teek photo evidence that he had been cheating on her with several individuals and that the stranger in front of her was somebody he had been dating for the past 4 years.
Teek was devastated. She thought about staying with her husband to keep the clueless Flea happy, but her bleeding and betrayed heart couldn't take it. She locked him out the first chance she had. After catching wind that he'd been caught, he never showed his face around Teek or Flea ever again.
Now single, the horribly depressed Teek didn't know what to do with her life. Thoughts of crawling back to her tight family were swatted away due to her previous pride and confidence in leaving them. She needed to support Flea and pay rent. Weeks of searching and burning through her savings led her to the northern sector of Stem City. A neon sign marketing company that had almost gone under following mass leave was looking for a customer support representative.
She held tight to her pride and began to work. It was an awful place to work. Rude off-worlders filled the cubicles, her creepy boss, Synus, watched every little action they took, and there were no break days. Her only friend, Glomby, was an asocial, geeky janitor. Teek only goes to work to keep a roof under Flea's head.
Flea "Blue Bunny" Miroir - She's always loved her daughter deeply, but in recent years, especially after the affair, Teek has watched her daughter grow colder and more distant. Teek wishes they could find a way to reconnect again, but she's far too tired from constantly working to try and do anything to improve the situation.
Glomby - Teek and Glomby usually lounge around in the breakroom and eat together silently. Sometimes she lets her cheerful mask slip in hope for good comfort, only to get a stuttering mess as Glomby fumbles any sort of consolation... She still appreciates the effort.
Synus "ILOVEMOLDYHOLES" Livenster - Teek finds Synus' unkempt demeanor creepy. She's respectfully declined the few times he's tried asking her to hang out after work.
