LAWMEN

TYPES OF LAWMEN

Lawmen are the robotic grunts of Stem Tower. Supplied by off-world security technology conglomerate LAWCORP, Stem Island and the company have a very good relationship. The company's surprisingly advanced robots serve both essential roles in Stem Island's continued success as an extradimensional economic interest and in Stem City's internal security.

All Lawmen share a common core AI chip developed personally by LAWCORP. It allows them to navigate the world with simple yet sharp AI that can quickly process logic and common sense. The issue with this chip is that while the main Lawmen database is incredibly secure, each individual Lawmen's coding is not.

TYPE-1

Lawmen Type-1 are grunts and able to carry out the most basic of tasks. With their numbers alone, Stem City's Lawmen could resolve any dangerous situation by swarming. Alone, they're very easy to overwhelm, disable, and modify to one's liking.

TYPE-2

Lawmen Type-2 are much more expensive but carry incredibly heavy armor and wrist-mounted laser rifles. Even one person can take out an entire squad of dissenting citizens. They're stationed in Stem Tower, the Nexus, The Complex, and several high priority Stemrail trains.

TYPE-3

Lawmen Type-3 are the brains of all operations. Their ability to understand, store, and translate data is required for Stem Tower's steady rule. They were introduced as moderators for the STEMNET, assistant teachers, and the Nexus' logistical brain. Their long-range, highly secure wireless transmissions can communicate information across Stem City within minutes. Best part? They're cheap!

TYPE-4

Lawmen Type-4-X are highly experimental, horribly expensive research database specialists. They can pull from the outer universe's LAWCORP information database. Only a few exist in Stem City, most of them being used by Shroom's Academy and Stem Tower's labs. They are prone to bugging out.

LAWAIRS

Lawairs are flying drones with sturdy arms and laser rifles made for various purposes, such as lifting heavy loads, Stem City construction projects, and eliminating anything that would intrude on the Nexus' Stemrail system. They've been used by Stem City in collaboration with several companies for trash and corpse collection as well. LAWCORP is currently developing a miniature version for more optimal use in Stem City's compact skyline.

HISTORY OF THE LAWMEN

The Lawmen were first offered to the budding Nexus of XX330's Council of 12 by the outer galaxy's LAWCORP. With extreme involvement from LAWCORP themselves, Stem City managed to set the supplied Lawmen up to work flawlessly with their STEMNET and Nexus. .

They were hijacked and used by Stem's Origin's and Count Ahsononv the Great to seize control of Stem City from the Council of 12 in XX450. Since then, the metallic brutes have been used to put down anything that Stem Tower wishes to put down.

In XX453, LAWCORP delivered a massive restocking to Stem City after Ahsononv personally visited their HQ in the outer universe to request a new shipment of Lawmen with fixed security along with a rewritten trade agreement. The contract stated that Stem City would give LAWCORP 100% free usage of the Nexus given that they offer major discounts. LAWCORP signed off on this.

In XX627, Stem City purchased another huge delivery of Lawmen after a group known as The Shroom Shade had been targeting their Type-1s for the past couple of decades.

IN XX804, LAWCORP noticed Blema Von Voldark, the acting admin of Stem Island, had burned through a majority of the Lawmen. They sent her a marketing video in an attempt to have her buy a new stock of Lawmen and for them to forge a closer relationship; The company had recently made some enemies and desired a strong economic player on their side. An updated contract gave Blema even more Lawmen while securing LAWCORP increased Nexus priority.
