Grand Shroom - The massive blue and white mushroom that covers Stem City's inner circle in a shade. Its stems reach to the very ends of Stem Island. Spinning green wormholes appear at the ends of its stems and are portals connected to a greater universe.

Fungal Core - An outdated term that refers to the center ring of Stem Island. It was the innermost plain that Stem City was built on. Used to be home to the religious Stems tribe.

Fungal Plains - The middle ring of Stem island. A once flush field surrounding the Grand Shroom. Slime hives and budding civilizations now cover its razed dirt fields. Frequently referred to as the Outlands. Home to Gillsway and Core.

Fungal Wastes - The outer ring of Stem Island. It is a dangerous jungle full of huge mushrooms and not much else. Many of its native species have been hunted to extinction. Read more here.

Lawmen - The robotic law enforcers of Stem island. Bought from LAWCORP. They come in various forms, but most people will only recognize the iconic Type-1 that patrols the streets. Read more here.

Marks - The currency used in Stem City. Used to refer to traded golden nuggets. In XX820, no physical Marks are owned by anybody but Stem Tower. They're manufactured as small gold bars that are produced by a top secret procedure involving underground stems. These gold bars of Marks are used to trade with off-world groups in the outer universe.

Markcard - A unique card that every Stem City citizen must acquire to be registered as a citizen and pay for goods.

Nexus - A massive structure built into the northern wall of Stem City that every single incoming and outgoing Stemrail train pulls into. Read more here.

Nobles - The highest class of Stem City citizens, who, despite being a minority, hold most of the political and economic power in Stem City. Exclusively comprised of the Stem Ram race.

Off-worlds - Any civilization/planet located on the other side of Stem Island's wormholes.

Off-worlders - Any sentient species that originates from a civilization/planet located on the other side of Stem Island's wormholes. It doesn't matter if they're a tourist, an immigrant, or natively born. Has become an umbrella term to refer to the majority of the of the lower-class population.

Outlander - Anyone who does not live inside the walls of Stem City.

Outlands - A more modern term for the Fungal Plains. It came into major use after Blema's XX801 WALL ACT.

Stem Island - A huge island floating in the abyssal fold between the grander universe. Its origin is unknown.

STEMNET - A very primitive form of internet controlled exclusively by Stem Tower. Data travels via the Grand Shroom's stems. Laws, weekly news reports written by the ruler, and heavily censored forums are the only things publicly available. Many of Stem Tower's internal servers are all connected to the STEMNET. Stem's Origin - A religious fanatical group that rules Stem City from the shadows. Many believe it to be merely a rumor, oblivious to its historical symbols being the same as the symbols that Stem City rulers frequently don. Read more here.

Stemrail - A complex transport system that carries various cargo trains in and out of Stem Island's wormholes using electrical rails placed on the Grand Shroom's stems.

Stems - A historical term that has been lost to time. Originally used for the natives of Stems village. It was then used by migrating off-worlders to talk about Stem Rams. Its use has fallen completely out of use besides being the surname of a select powerful noble family, and as a derogatory term by long lived off-worlders to refer to all Stem Rams. Read more here.

The Complex - An underground complex underneath Stem Tower that houses its Marks gold reserve, dangerous criminals, and contraband substances stored for later off-world selling. Read more here.
